Take a second look at this Beatles classic, and see the somewhat sinister mindset behind the lyrics.
Guy meets girl. She takes him home to her place---obviously a very classy residence. She invites him to stay overnight. After a night of lengthy conversation she mentions she "has to get up early to go to work" and offers him the option of sleeping in the bathtub (due to the fact her place wan't furnished. He had to sit "on the rug", remember?)
The next day he wakes up, having slept off his drunken state (from "drinking her wine").
Miffed at having been invited by a gorgeous lady to stay the night with her at her place with the anticipation of getting laid, only to get little more than mildly drunk and a chance to shoot the shit with her for a few hours, then spend the rest of the night by himself with her in the next room, he exacts his revenge on her by setting the place on fire just before he departs and heads back on his own
...exclaiming, ever-so-facetiously, "Isn't it good? Norwegian wood."
