Song Analysis: Glendora

If one really listens to the lyrics of this 1956 top-10 hit by Perry Como it becomes obvious that the character in this song is undyingly obsessively infatuated with a department store mannequin.
The mid-50s being such an ultra-conservative period of time, it seems a bit enigmatic a popular song from that era would embrace a theme like this so freely.
